in＋時(shí)間段：在…時(shí)期（范圍大）

例：He stayed there during the whole sumer.整個(gè)夏天他都呆在那里。
during、in的區(qū)別：一段時(shí)間可互換，持續(xù)時(shí)間during，in＋季節(jié)是泛指
① 相同點(diǎn)：均可表示“一段時(shí)間”，有時(shí)可互換。
例：I’ll be on holiday in/during August.我將在八月份休假。
② 不同點(diǎn)：表示行為要持續(xù)一段時(shí)間的名詞之前，只能用during。
例：The phone rang during the meal. I went to see my aunt during my stay in Beijng.吃飯的時(shí)候電話響了。我在北京逗留期間去看了我姑姑。
③ 與季節(jié)名詞連用時(shí)，in表泛指，during表特指。
例：We often go swimming in summer.我們經(jīng)常在夏天去游泳。（泛指）
例：We went swimming during the summer.夏天我們?nèi)ビ斡玖?。（特指?/li>

【in，at / in，on，to】＋地點(diǎn)

in大范圍，at小地點(diǎn)
in強(qiáng)調(diào)“空間”或“范圍”，表示范圍較大的地方。
例：When did your father arrive in China?你父親什么時(shí)候到中國(guó)?
at強(qiáng)調(diào)“點(diǎn)”，表示范圍較小的地方；
例：When did your father arrive at the airport?你父親什么時(shí)候到機(jī)場(chǎng)?
in在內(nèi)，on鄰近，to之外
in 表示在某范圍之內(nèi)；
Taiwan lies （in）the southeast of China.臺(tái)灣在中國(guó)的東南部內(nèi)。
on 表示毗鄰；
例： Mongolia lies （on）the north of China.蒙古鄰近中國(guó)的北部。
to 指某環(huán)境范圍以外。
Japan lies （to）the east of China.日本在中國(guó)的東面外。

【with，by，in，on】＋方式

with工具，by通過(guò)，in語(yǔ)言，on媒體
with表示“用…工具”，后面要用冠詞或物主代詞。
例：I broke the window with a stone.我用石頭打破了窗戶(hù)。
by表示“用…方法、手段（有時(shí)也可與through互換）”。
例：She goes to school by bus. I learn Japanese by/through watching video.她乘公共汽車(chē)上學(xué)。我通過(guò)看視頻學(xué)日語(yǔ)。
in表示“用…語(yǔ)言、材料、顏色”等。
例：This book is writen in Rusian.
on表示“通過(guò)…媒介、方式”，多用于固定詞組。
例：His model deeds have been publicized on TV.

【of，from，in】＋材料

of＋外材，from＋內(nèi)材，in＋用料
1. of 表示制成品可以看得出原材料
例：The table is made of iron.這張桌子是鐵做的。
2. from 用于不能從制成品中看出原材料時(shí)
例：Paper is made from wood.紙是由木頭制成的。
3. in 用于某種材料前，常與 write/ speak/answer 等連用
例：He always writes letters in ink.他總是用墨水寫(xiě)信。

除了【except，except for】

except除同類(lèi)(句中)，except for除瑕疵(句首)
（1）except后排除的內(nèi)容與主語(yǔ)同類(lèi)，即從整體中去掉與其它部分不相同的部分。該部分包含在主語(yǔ)當(dāng)中。
例：All the buildings are excellnt except this one.除了這座，所有的建筑都很好。
（2）except for后所排除的內(nèi)容與主語(yǔ)不是同類(lèi)，表示從一個(gè)整體中除去一些瑕疵。
例：All the buildngs are excellent except for their location.除了位置外，所有的建筑都很棒。
（3）在句首時(shí)往用excpt for
例：There was no single person in the dark street that night except a policeman on his duty. 沒(méi)有一個(gè)人在黑暗的街道，晚上除了一個(gè)警察在他的責(zé)任。
例：Except for a policeman on his duty, there was no single person in the dark street that night.那天晚上，除了一個(gè)值班的警察外，漆黑的街上一個(gè)人也沒(méi)有。

穿過(guò)【across，through】

across表面，through內(nèi)部
acros指從表面穿過(guò)
例：Be cautious when you get across the street.過(guò)馬路時(shí)要小心。
through指從內(nèi)部穿過(guò)
The light passes through the glass.光穿過(guò)玻璃。

直到【till, until】

肯定可互換，until句首
（1）肯定句中，一般情況下可以互換。
例：They worked till/until six o’clock.他們一直工作到六點(diǎn)鐘。
（2）until可用于句首，till通常不用于句首。
例：Until you told me, I had heard nothing about him.在你告訴我前，我對(duì)他一無(wú)所知。

直到…才【not until】

放句首要倒裝，強(qiáng)調(diào)＋it is…that…
（3）常見(jiàn)詞組：not until，表達(dá)方式與till含義有別。
例：I will be here till he comes back. I won't leave her until he comes back.我將在這里直到他回來(lái)。直到他回來(lái)我才會(huì)離開(kāi)她。
（4）not until 狀語(yǔ)在句首，句子要倒裝。
例：Not until nine o'clock yesterday evening didwe finish the work.直到昨天晚上九點(diǎn)鐘我們才完成工作。
（5）not until 強(qiáng)調(diào)句：It is/was not until…that…
例：It was not until Mike told me tha I had clear idea of the whole thing. =I din’t have a clear idea of the whole thing until Mike told me.
